Let me introduce you to Oli Baba’s halloumi fries.
I’m going to keep this short. Because a photo speaks a thousand words after all…
I have seen the future and the future is made of halloumi fries.
After our spendy shopping trip to The Blogger’s Market on Saturday, Charlie and I set off towards Camden Market. We had the vague idea of grabbing some lunch, and shooting some outfit photos, which we did.
But outfit photos, schmoutfit photos. I think halloumi fries are the priority here, no?
I’ve been to a couple of the proper restaurants in Camden market (this one and this one) but somehow I always prefer the street food stalls at KERB.
The stalls are consistently excellent, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there. The Korean burritos are ace. I had a gorgeous bowl of Louisiana voodoo chicken there last year. The burger and crazy fries below are from Baba Gs which I’ve been told is INSANELY good. And I’ve also seen photos on Instagram of a pasta stall where they toss the pasta in front of you, inside a giant wheel of cheese.
All excellent stuff. And I will be going back for more. But for now: halloumi fries.
Oli Baba’s halloumi fries are crunchy sticks of golden cheesy goodness, drizzled with natural yoghurt, and pomegranate syrup, then sprinkled with sumac, coriander, pomegranate seeds, and chilli flakes.
They are everything you’ve ever wanted in a bowl of literal cheese fries.
Each portion costs £5, which might seem like a lot to some people, but A) it’s London (which is pretty much explanation enough to be honest!), and B) they’re actually pretty filling.
Oh and a quick head’s up: there are a LOT of people in Camden on a Saturday, so I suggest buying your food and then running away from everyone. It can get a bit overwhelming otherwise!
There are a couple of tables and chairs dotted about, but we found a “seat” on a little bridge just down the canal and it was much calmer and nicer.
Go forth and live the halloumi life, my friends.
