I’ve never really been one for baths.
I’m usually far too impatient to want to spend an hour just doing nothing in a tub of hot water!
But I’ve been feeling all out of sorts recently and have been trying to find ways to help me unplug and wind down in the evenings.
And if there’s one thing I’ve discovered, it’s that there’s nothing quite like a pampering session to make you feel relaxed and at peace with life.
Here’s my current pamper routine!
1. RUN A BATH
Hot water and your favourite bubble bath.
I’ve had this orange and mandarin Brightside bubble bar since last Summer and it’s DIVINE.
Smells so good and it’s lasted me aaaages. Just a small corner is all that is needed to get bright orange water and some darn good bubbles.
2. SMOTHER YOUR HAIR AND FACE IN A MASK
Coconut oil is my favourite thing ever at the moment.
Vita Coco sent me a couple of samples of their extra virgin coconut oil* and I’m completely obsessed with it.
I like to scoop it up in it’s solidified form and melt it gently between my hands. Then I literally just smother the ends and midsections of my hair with it before tying it all up.
PS. To get it out: avoid water, put conditioner straight on to your hair and leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing everything out with hot water.
I also like to smooth the excess over my face as a moisturising mask. Leaves my skin feeling as soft as a baby’s bottom! :)
3. POUR YOURSELF A DRINK
Excellent choices: glass of wine, frothy coffee or a fruity cocktail.
I went for the latter!
The lovely folk over at Appletiser sent me a couple of bottles of their new Blackcurrant and Apple juice drink* to try, and charged me with the task of creating a cocktail with it.
I kept it pretty simple and went for a prosecco inspired one. And I’m gonna call iiiiiit…
THE FIZZY LIME TWIST
Put a couple of cubes of ice to a tumbler, then fill it two thirds of the way up with the Blackcurrant and Apple juice, and top up with chilled, fizzy prosecco.
Final touch: add a couple of drops of lime juice!
4. LIE BACK AND RELAX!
Pop on some music (Ed Sheeran is always a good choice), grab a good book (Jilly Cooper hooray!), slide down into your lovely hot scented water and just relaaaax…
I can guarantee you’ll get out of that bath feeling chilled, happy and incredibly ready for a nap.
I always sleep like an absolute baby after going through this haha!
