I love pink neon lights and disco party toilets and INSANE salted caramel popcorn milkshakes.
And if you love those things too, then you should really pay a visit to BRGR.Co in Soho…
Erica and I fell instantly in love with the interiors at BRGR.Co.
From the pink neon BUNS BUNS BUNS sign outside, to the teal lighting, cheeky waiters, and ‘Naughty Corner’ graffiti, every inch of the restaurant radiates personality.
I felt like I was on the set of Riverdale. This is probably one of the geekiest things I’ve ever written but: one of my favourite things about the Netflix show (other than Cole Sprouse, of course ♥︎) is the colour grading. The magenta and turquoise tones make me SO happy.
So how could I not enjoy a restaurant that not only makes me feel like a teen queen cheerleader, but also feeds me truffle burgers and crispy chicken wings?
The menu has a selection of pretty basic diner-style dishes, with a couple of added twists and extras.
We started with dessert (perks of being an adult): a giant salted caramel milkshake.
It arrived topped with whipped cream, salted caramel popcorn, and chopped nuts, and it was delicious. Creamy, sweet and HUGE. We were very glad we only ordered one to share!
Next we had crispy sriracha chicken wings, which were a highlight of the meal for both of us. The chicken was tender and full of flavour, and the spicy BBQ glaze had just the right level of heat and crunch to keep us happy.
THE BURGERS AND SIDES
For mains, Erica ordered the bacon blue burger, which arrived in a brioche bun, topped with blue cheese, bacon, and all the usual trimmings (lettuce, tomato, etc).
I went for the truffle burger, from the Signature menu, which came topped with provolone cheese and truffle cheese sauce. It was cheesy, creamy and utterly indulgent, but I did think it could have done with some tomato or something in it to help cut through the richness.
Both beef patties were cooked well, but lacked a bit in seasoning and flavour. They’re nice burgers, but to be honest, ‘nice’ is all I can really say about them.
The crunchy fries and sweet potato fries were both wonderful though. And we also ordered a portion of creamy mac’n’cheese which arrived hot and bubbling in a cast-iron pan, with a perfect cheesy crust baked on top.
Overall: I really liked BRGR.Co.
The vibe is friendly and casual, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the decor is obviously absolutely brilliant. The food is good, if unspectacular, and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll keep in mind in future for a chilled catch up with friends.
Oh, and if you do happen to pay them a visit, don’t forget to check out the disco-party toilets.
Flick the switch, and thank me later…
