HAPPY MONDAY | 10 GOOD THINGS

Happy Monday!

OK so I am LOVING my new early morning routine. My goes off alarm at 6:20am, I’m up by 6:30am, tea and toast in the kitchen (which means no distractions), then blog work until 8:30am.

That gives me nearly two hours to work on blog stuff, whether it’s writing, editing photos, learning how to use iMovie (cough) or just plowing through my inbox.

And I’m actually getting stuff done!

Last week I managed to write two blog posts, edit another set of photos, and edit a whole video in iMovie. Are you proud? I’m proud. Hopefully once I’ve picked up the skills on iMovie I’ll be able to edit much faster, which means I’ll be able to write more…

But yeah. It’s great!

Evenings really weren’t working for me, what with being so unpredictable with events and plans etc, but I feel really confident that I can keep to this schedule AND still get enough sleep to stop me from being a grouch.

Here’s what else I’ve been loving this week…

1. McDonalds! Jaye and Tasha and I met up on Friday night to work on our media kits together. We grabbed McDonalds for dinner, which I’d not had in about a year, and it was goooood.

2. “New” makeup! The best part about having a beauty-mad beauty blogger as one of your close gal pals is that she actively pushes stuff on to you that she’s never used and wants to get rid of. Which is why I somehow ended up with 7 new blushes this week, courtesy of Jaye (including a Dior, a Chanel and a Bobbi Brown!)

3. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I love this book. I LOVE. THIS. BOOK. Someone make it into a movie and let me play Celia? OK thanks.

4. Seafood pasta. I actually left work on time on Wednesday so, to celebrate, Gary made me dinner: the most delicious salmon and prawn pasta in cream and white wine sauce. IT WAS SO GOOD.

5. Snapchat! I’ve been really getting into Snapchat in the last couple of weeks, so last night I decided to do a snap story of my hair dying process, all the way from start to finish. I included all the products I use, as well as how I mix my colour, and it seems to have gone down really well which is great! (Oh and my hair looks faaaaab – if I do say so myself!) 6. Blue skies! Crisp cold morning, with bright blue skies and sunshine are my absolute FAVOURITE. Here’s hoping they come back soon! :(

7. Legally Blonde. My friend was in a production of Legally Blonde this past weekend, so I met up with some of my uni ladies to go and watch it. It’s one of my favourite musicals anyway, but OHMYGOD YOU GUYS IT WAS AWESOME! The cast were fantastic, it was as hilarious as I remember it being, and I got to catch up with some of my fave ladies. Winner!

8. French toast. I made French toast on Thursday morning. ‘Nuff said.

9. Dinerama. The lovely Dr Pond (Dr!) was down from Manchester for the weekend, so a bunch of us blog ladies (and the lovely Sarah!) met up for food, cider and a catch up at Dinerama in Shoreditch. I had beef poutine with cheesy fries and it was DELISH. As was the company. And the giggles. And the cuddles.

10. Virginia McLaurin. She had a dance party with the President of the United States. She’s 106. I love her. I want to be like her when I grow up.

This week is looking much more chilled than last week, and then my BFF and I are running away to Copenhagen for the weekend which is going to be THE MOST AMAZING TRIP EVER. We’ve not done a girls holiday together yet, so we’re super excited. Can you tell?
