Happy Monday!
You know that feeling when you go through all your old photos and discover ones of you when you were really fit and skinny?
And then you remember how you used to work out four or five times a week and how healthy you were?
And then you remember that you just spent the entire weekend not going to your exercise class and eating all the food in all the land?
Yeah… that. Sigh.
My best friend and I started the weekend at a champagne and canapé tasting on Friday evening, before going to Bill’s for dinner.
That preeeeetty much set the tone for the whole weekend and I went to bed last night feeling like a stuffed turkey!
1. Smoked salmon and prawn canapé. Vicky and I nearly cried over this. Full review coming this week but this bad boy deserved a mention all of it’s own. SO BEAUTIFUL.
2. Hosting my first #lbloggers chat! I’ve been meaning to request it for ages and I’m so glad I finally did it. I had an amazing response from all of you and I had such a blast reading through everyone’s replies (took me about 2h and I still didn’t manage to get through all my notifications!)
3. Meeting up with Tara and Steph for the fastest coffee/chat ever. UTTER BABES. I’d met Steph at an event before, but this was my first meeting with Tara. Says a lot about blogging that you can meet someone for the first time, spend 20 minutes with them and still feel like you’ve known them forever :) it’s one my favourite things about blogging!
4. £15 Kenneth Branagh theatre company tickets! I managed to get my hands on £15 tickets for both A Winter’s Tale in October (ft. Judi Dench!) and really, reaaaally early tickets for Romeo and Juliet for May 2016 (ft. Lily James and Richard Madden!). Half the tickets for Winter’s Tale are already sold out so I feel like I did really well getting in so early!
5. Team #MonopolywithCharlie. I went to an event on Wednesday with Joe’s Bloggers. It involved pizza, prosecco, beer and Monopoly and I laughed so hard my abs hurt the next day.
6. Inside My Head: a brain tumour blog. Inspiring on about fifty million levels. My best friend sent me this link to read over the weekend and it’s so heartbreaking and uplifting all at once. Anna’s the same age as me and has recently been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. It’s incredibly humbling to read, because she’s so brave and honest and positive.
7. Once Upon A Time. I was off work with flu symptoms on Thursday (funsies) so spent the entire day in bed with Lemsip, toast and 13 episodes of Once Upon A Time on Netflix. SUCH A GOOD SHOW. I’d forgotten how much I love it.
8. Greek feast. For dinner on Saturday night, Gary and two of his housemates and I made a total FEAST. Greek-inspired burgers (with mint, feta and red pepper), home-made griddled flatbreads, the BEST sweet potato fries (thrice-cooked) and salad with hummus and tzatziki. so. bloody. good.
9. Kensington Gardens. I wandered through the park on Saturday with some of my fave blogger friends. Sunshine, blue skies, green grass and a real sense of peace and calm. It’s one of my faveourite London spaces :)
10. Kimchi pulled pork burrito. Vicky and I blew off our exercise class yesterday morning to go to the re-opening of Dalston food market instead. We had SO much good food, but my absolute fave was this amazing gochujang pulled pork burrito with kimchi rice from Kimchinary. SO YUMMY!
So yeah… A lot of food basically.
This week’s looking much quieter, and I’m actually excited to go back to my breakfast protein shakes and lunch-time salads!
What did you all get up to over the weekend? :)
