Hello again!
Haven’t been here in a while, I missed you, gosh when’s the last time I did a Happy Monday, etc etc.
I’m trying to get myself into a routine of blogging on a Sunday now so I’ll stop whinging about my lack of blogging time.
The aim is to get three posts up a week, including my beloved Happy Monday, and I’m also going to attempt to not ramble on quite so much and keep my posts a bit shorter.
So without further ado: here are 10 things that have made me stupidly happy this week!
(I did think about doing a massive catchup of happy things but LOL it’s been 2 months since I last did one of these so we’d be here a while!)
1. Unicorn hair. I DID IT! After years and years of not being able to do anything fun to my hair (because receptionist, because corporate, because boriiing), I’ve gone and dyed it purple. Sort of. I didn’t buy enough dye so it’s just a faded ombré for now, but I still love it! It’s a pinky-purple shade of unicorn lavender and I’m soo glad I did it.
2. Healthy eating. So here’s a fun story. Last year I blogged about these leather trousers. And now I can’t get said leather trousers over my thighs. So yeah. I’ve been stuffing my face with chicken and veg and fruit and water and stir fries this week and now I feel all glowy and smug about life.
3. Walking in the rain. Last Sunday I hosted a Thinking Bob walk and talk event in Kensington Gardens. It absolutely it CHUCKED it down and we all got soaked, but it was actually really nice to get out in the fresh air and smell the mud and watch the dogs go mental racing across the park.
4. Mamma Mia. I BLOODY LOVE THIS FILM. I watched it yesterday while my hair dye was processing and I was singing and dancing and I cried during Super Trouper cos I was so happy. I want to live in Mamma Mia Land.
5. The Quarter Club: SATISFACTION. I headed to the fabulous Quarter Club meet up on Wednesday with some of my Bangarang ladies and it was amaaaazing! If you’ve not heard of it before, it’s a network aimed at fiercely ambitious creative women. Most of the attendees are twenty and thirty somethings, all women, all fabulous and interesting and smart and bloody amazing. Emma from Girl Lost in City has written a fab blog post all about it so I’ma just send you over there cos she pretty much says everything I wanted to but better than I ever could!
We drank gin, ate snacks, listened, laughed and cried, and then walked down the beautifully lit up Southbank to a pub garden where we cackled, gossiped and practised our karaoke songs. I came home feeling sparkly and sassy and like I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Girl Gangs are my favourite.
6. Dippy eggs + soldiers. I’ve eaten this 5 times this week, including this morning. I’m not even sorry.
7. Dispatch. OHMYGOD. This is my new favourite app. We were running a Cards Against Humanity event at work on Wednesday evening and we only realised on Wednesday morning that we didn’t have the cards. I put out a panicked shout on twitter seeing if anyone could help and the lovely Rebecca from Runaway Kiwi pointed me in the direction of Dispatch. I’m going to do a full post on them later in the week but you should know that they found, ordered and delivered the cards to me in ONE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES. I was sooo impressed!
8. Instagram. I’m obsessed at the moment. OBSESSED I TELL YOU. I hit 4000 followers just after New Year so that’s given me a massive boost and I’m really enjoying getting my creative photography juices flowing again.
9. Tapas! Another work event this week (it’s been a busy one!) involved me stuffing my face with croquetas and manchego and tomato bread at Camino in King’s Cross. Cos even when you’re trying to be healthy, sometimes ya just need chorizo in yer life.
10. Channing Tatum + Beyoncé. I DIED.
