I’m back in London after a GORGEOUS time staying in Yorkshire with my best friend, Shvonne.
Plenty of girly catchups, doggie snuggles and I’m pretty sure I cracked a rib from laughing so much. Maybe it’s cos we went through so many crazy, hilarious and downright mental things together at uni, but I swear I never laugh as hard with anyone as I do when I’m with my uni ladies!
Shvonne lives quite near the city of York so, as I’d never been before, we popped down on Saturday to explore for a couple of hours…
I love old cities in general. Budapest is gorgeous, Bucharest is fascinating, and I adorrrrred Rome.
York had everything it needed to be a top city in my eyes: cute buildings, cobbled roads, good cafes, beautiful gardens, friendly locals, yummy food and quirky history. I especially loved all the music and entertainment lining the streets. So many talented buskers!
I’ll definitely be back again soon :)
Jeans, my new Breton top from Boden, a Topshop trench (bought last year in the sales for a bargainous £15!) and my favourite boohoo Chelsea boots. Casual, warm and oh so comfy.
I abandoned the classy handbag for the weekend and went for my lovely new leather-look backpack from Primark instead. Perfect for a day of trawling the city with a big ol’ DSLR!
We stopped off at Oscar’s for a late lunch before getting the train home: über-cheesy nachos and chilli with a token salad (y’know, healthy) and pints of diet coke.
Then we got a bit hyper waiting for our train and decided that taking awful selfies on the platform (in full view of passing trains) was definitely a great way to pass the time…

Duke and Baxter are Shiv’s golden retriever puppies (yep, despite their size, they’re still puppies!) and they are absoloooootely adorable.
Baxter and I are definitely kindred spirits. He’s a little bit quieter and more easily spooked, while Duke is the bossy and boisterous one.
They came and got into bed with me yesterday morning for snuggles which was divine.
I feel like every Sunday morning should involve puppy-cuddles…
