HONEY I’M HOOOOOME!
I missed you guys. Did you miss me?
I started my new job at Thinking Bob 2 weeks ago now. It’s absolutely brilliant and I’m ridiculously happy… but also stupidly busy all of the time!
Even the days that I’ve got home at a reasonable hour, I’ve been so mentally drained that all I’ve wanted to do is eat my tea, have a bath and climb into bed.
I’ve always been super impressed by everyone who manages to keep up a daily blog along with a full-time job, but now I’M ABSOLUTELY IN AWE OF YOU PEOPLE WHO CAN DO THIS.
Since I started blogging, I’ve always just typed a post and posted it straight away.
Now I’m having to get used to writing and scheduling in advance, and it’s going to take me a bit to get into that…
So yeah, this is me just basically saying please stick with me, I promise I’ve not abandoned Little Miss Katy, I just might be a little slower and less consistent than you’re used to!
And as an extra treat/catchup/apology, here are TWENTY good things from the past 3 weeks!
1. Community and Social Media Manager. Bit obvious, but hey ho! I love my new job role quite a lot. We’re still figuring out some things but
2. Teddy bear onesie. Tu Clothing by Sainsbury’s offered to send me a bunch of items from the site, and I chose this polar bear onesie. It’s soft and fleecy and warm and OH SO ADORABLE. And also only £20. so yeah. GO AND BUY IT NOW.
3. ALL OF THE SLEEP. Everyone should be able to start work after 10am. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me and you wouldn’t believe how much more productive I am now that I’m getting enough sleep!
4. Christmas is comingggg! Walking through a freezing and sparkly Covent Garden, drinking mulled wine and listening to the musicians playing carols. JOYFUL.
5. Home sweet home. I heart my flat, I heart my flatmates and I heart living with Gary. (NOTE: Ironically, shortly after writing this, a mouse ran across the floor. So y’know, pros and cons to everything.)
6. Christmas candles. Oh hai there Snowflake Cookie and Christmas Eve, HOW ARE YOU. YOU SMELL NICE. YOU BABES.
7. MY SUPERSTAR FRIEND. We went to watch our lovely Bangarang buddy, Katie Brennan, perform her cabaret last week and it was everything you’ve ever thought and dreamed about as a twenty-something. I cried and I laughed and I was so proud I cried some more. She’s been booked again for the St James theatre in January, and me and the Bangarang Gang will be front row and centre to watch it all over again ♥
8. Baked camembert. Gary and I had a baked camembert for supper the other day and it was beaut. Studded with garlic and rosemary, and served with toasty bread bits, it was everything anyone ever wanted on a cold Winter’s night!
11. Liverpool with #BloggerLodge. Gary and I had a long weekend away in Liverpool and it was gloooorious. FREEZING. But glorious. It’s such a vibrant, cultural city, and we absolutely loved it.
10. Work friends. It’s been several years since I worked with someone else and it’s so nice to have lovely people to bounce ideas off of again! :)
9. Mussels and fries. I went to the Yelp Blog School yesterday. We had a 3-course brunch at The Botanist and I had mussels in white wine and cream sauce with fries and nearly cried it was so yummy.
12. Inspiration breakfasts. I met my lovely babes Jaye and Tash for a ridiculously early breakfast to talk all things blogging, social media and pet projects. And eat avocado on toast. Because obviously.
13. FINDING DORY OMG. What a babe. I’M SO EXCITED I CAN’T WAIT.
14. Meet Edgar. This is the programme I use to schedule all my blog social media and I LOVE IT. The team sent me the most adorable handwritten note all the way from the States, just to say thank you cos I tweeted about them a few times!!! And they even added some stickers and temp tattoos in the envelope as well. How’s that for customer service!
15. The Spanish Christmas lottery advert. This trumps Man on the Moon, Mog the cat and EVERYTHING ELSE EVER MADE FOR CHRISTMAS. EVER.

16. That time I stopped caring. I love the blogging community, I really do. But it’s amazing how just by taking a step back from it can make you realise how much bullshit gets thrown around, and even amazing-er to realise you’re past caring cos life’s too short for people who like being rude online :)
17. Sunday nights. Sundays are totally sacred to my flatmate, and recently I’ve been feeling the same way about them. There is literally nothing nicer than starting a new week curled up on the sofa with the fairy lights on, a warm home-cooked dinner on your lap, glass of red wine at your side, and good film on the telly.
18. Apple MacBook Air. I’ve been using one of these in the office for work AND OHMYGOD I WANT ONE PLEASE AND THANK YOU. So pretty, so functional, so absolutely awesome.
19. My baby sister. My not-so-little sister got on to a volunteering programme and is off to Nicaragua in the New Year! I’m going miss her like mad but I’m so incredibly proud of her. She’s been working really hard to fundraise, so if anyone wants to give her a hand, you can donate here :)
20. You! Thank you for sticking with me. For all your supportive messages and emails and texts. For being total utter babes. You make the internet a happy place for me ♥
