So was anyone else in London late to work this morning? Ah the joys of a tube strike! Mine wasn’t as bad as bad as it could have been but I still had to take two tubes, two buses and walk!

On a more positive note: it’s payday! Hurrah! Who doesn’t love payday? I’ve already treated myself to a lovely new lipstick: Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in 107, a gorgeous deep purpley-pink shade.

So today’s post is the ever-popular What’s In My Bag? I love these posts. I always think a woman’s handbag and its contents say so much about her!

This is my current baby. It’s the Georgia Winged Handheld Bag in Green from Accessorize (£32). I’ve had this bag for about a month now. It was my payday treat for April and I LOVE IT. It’s just the right size for me to be able to carry around all my stuff (I can never have a day bag that is too small for my Kindle); it’s got a long (detachable) strap, so I can wear it on my shoulder when I want to; and the colour is just fab! I actually saw the Coral version of this first and nearly bought that one, but I decided the green would be a better contrast to my wardrobe and would also work better in winter.

Behold! The contents of my bag.

First column (from top): plaster (Band Aid) – Beauty Nation clear nail varnish – blonde hair grip – brown hair tie – gold and pearl ring

Second column: Mickey and Minnie Mouse make up bag – New Look purse – Simple cleansing facial wipes – Vaseline hand cream – Clean & Clear fast-action spot treatment gel

Third column: Kindle Paperwhite in Ink Blue leather cover – Oyster and railcards in Specsavers cover – Nero loyalty stamp card – Arm & Hammer mini toothpaste – Germolene – blue biro

Fourth column: Boots glasses case – keys – iPhone charger – iPod nano 4th generation in Limited Edition Red – 5p coin

>Fifth column: hairbrush – Apple earphones – lipsticks x3 (close-up below) – Vaseline

Sixth column: 7-day travelcard receipt – New Look necklace

My makeup bag is from Primark. I think it cost me £3 and I think it’s adorable.

I love vintage-look Mickey and Minnie with London (of course) in the background. My job requires me to be perfectly groomed at all times so I always carry this bad boy around with me to make sure I can top up when necessary. It’s also why I carry around face wipes, toothpaste and fast-action spot treatment gel. I had a toothbrush in there as well but I think I forgot that in Yorkshire last week…

I LOVE this Oyster card holder. My friend has one and as soon as I saw it I knew I needed to have one too. Specsavers were handing them out for free outside Charing Cross Station so Boy picked one up for me. In case you hadn’t noticed, I have a thing for London-themed stuff. I’ve only been in the city properly (as in, further central than Zone 6!) for about 8 months so it’s still a magical place for me!

Nero chai tea lattes are the best. Just the right amount of spice. Two more stamps to go!

Oh, remember when I told you all I was a Harry Potter geek?

I thought I had more lipsticks in my bag but apparently not. 05 is probably the one I wear the most at work. Kiss of Life is a fab red but too much of a pain to keep re-applying. Great for evenings out though! Pink Hurricane is OK in an emergency, but it’s been chillin’ in my bag for a few weeks now and I haven’t touched it, so I think that says it all really. I think it’s just a bit too glittery-shimmery for my taste.

This is my emergency necklace. It’s from New Look and I like to keep it handy for those unexpected evening dates, drinks or meet-ups when I don’t have time to go home and change. I can mostly just throw it on over whatever I’m wearing and it just adds that little extra something to a casual day outfit. Apply some lippy and I’m good to go!

So there you have it. Me and my bag!
