Hello!
Are you sick of hearing about my new place yet?
Don’t worry. I’m nearly done talking about it.
… Nearly.
I’M SORRY OK. IT’S JUST MAKING ME SO HAPPY.
The space, the light, the space, the white walls, the space… and did I mention the space?
It’s SUCH a nice difference from my old titchy room!
I literally just lie in bed and sigh contentedly at my surroundings.

Isn’t it lovely?
I knew I wanted bright white bedding, with colourful pillows and cushions, but I wasn’t entirely sure what colour scheme I really wanted to follow…
Then the lovely Victoria sent me a link to this AMAZING cushion cover and that was it. I was done.
It was PERFECT.
(And SO on brand for Little Miss Katy don’tcha think!)
So in the end I’ve gone for white with touches of yellow, pink, blue and grey.
It’s clean and crisp but still fun and light-hearted.
Exactly what I wanted.
I bought the sheets, duvet cover, the plain grey and the white Oxford pillow cases from John Lewis. The pink pillow cases are from Primark.
Mum made me the blue cushion covers. She’s making me a triangle patched quilt to match the cushion too. (My Mummy is the bestest.)
The yellow lamp is from Habitat (I snapped it up in the sale!)
The silver bell alarm clock is from a charity shop (though I spotted a similar one on the George website!)

The rug at the end of my bed is from (lol you’re gonna love this…) the Zoo. Yup. I bought it in the souvenir shop at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Ironically, I’ve also spotted them in Tiger though!
My fab mirror was sent to me by Homebase* and is a total BABE. I’ve not had a full-length mirror in my house for about 3 years and it feels gooood. It’s just the right height and fits perfectly in the gap between my wardrobes and the door.

I’ve still got a few bits to sort.
I’m waiting for some fairy lights to arrive from Amazon and I’m gonna drape one set all over the top of the mirror.
I also want to hang some on the wall behind my bed, so it feels even cosier.
Then I’ve got a small desk in the corner that I’ve not properly shown you guys (you can just about spot it in the mirror reflection!). There’s a ton of storage boxes under it at the moment so the space looks pretty ugly. What I’d really like to do is find a pretty table-cloth to cover it, so it’s all nice and hidden.
I also want to buy a DVD storage rack, so I can clear the top of my bookshelf and make it look prettier. Then I can display a few ornaments or framed prints.
Maybe I’ll even paint my mirror and book-case white, so that they match the rest of the room.
Who knows.
To be honest, all I really care about is that I’m happier than I’ve been in months.
It’s amazing what a change in surroundings can do for morale! :)
