I love blogger events.
I love that I get to meet people I’ve been chatting to online for months, make new friends, and (on occasion) get sprinkled with glitter and drink all the gin.
The Voucher Codes Swap Shop Blogger Party (try saying that five times fast…) was on Monday night. And it. was. AWESOME.
Over 70 of us turned up with bags of old clothes we no longer wanted, all ready to exchange them for other people’s discarded items.
I went in with a bright pink scuba skater skirt from boohoo, a t-shirt that I’ve had for years and can’t remember EVER wearing, and two pairs of heels that no longer fit in with my lifestyle (because tubes and walking).
And I think I came out winning!
I left with three oversized (ie: men’s) sweaters: a black one from Next (which has been donated to Gary), a bright red cashmere-cotton and a beautiful blue one from Massimo Dutti. I love wearing men’s sweaters. I always used to nick my Dad’s ones (and still have a couple in my wardrobe!). I wear them with skinnies and flats, or over bodycon dresses with ankle boots.
I also managed to get my hands on this lovely pink and white striped top from Boden (which I’m 100% certain is the same one as my navy and white Breton!). And my pièce de résistance: this gorgeous bokeh-print scuba bodycon dress from Bershka.
Obvs I was wearing the wrong underwear. But with spanx, black tights and heels? I’m thinking it’s gonna be perfect for Christmas parties!
Voucher Codes kept our spirits up with unlimited gin cocktails from the amazing guys at Candlelight Club.
They also provided DELICIOUS pimped out mac’n’cheese from Anna Mae’s (remember when Gary and I tried them out at FEAST?), which was an excellent plan considering the cocktails seemed to get stronger as the night went on!
They also had a printer set up that would print off any photos uploaded to Instagram and tagged with #VCSwapShop. Hence my crazy Insta-marathon on Monday night!
There were also a whole bunch of other activities for us to get involved with: The amazing Twistina can make practically ANYTHING with balloons. Balloon modelling for adults is a win.
I got a light-up cupcake headband (complete with cherry and leaf!) and Katie and Hannah both went for gem-studded bows. Then I spotted Monty the Penguin on Hollie‘s head and had to go over to say hi and grab a photo.
And then. AND THEN. I spotted this.
A PINK BALLOON UNICORN.
Game over.
There was a craft table, where we sat down to decorate headbands with jewels and sparkly things.
We also had two lovely ladies doing glitter lips for us all.
Check out that purple pout!
We finished off our night with a dive into our amazing goodie bags: a Boden purse, Dorothy Perkin’s necklace, Pop Chips (obvs), popcorn and this handsome chap!
I named him Alfred.
I had an absolute blast, met a whole bunch of babes and came away with a bundle of new clothes, a giant Number 1 helium balloon and a massive grin on my face.
An EXCELLENT start to the week. Cheers, Voucher Codes!
