I heart Christmas jumpers. I bought one novelty one from Primark last year and also own a couple of fair-isle knits (stolen from my Dad’s wardrobe!).
But this year my love of festive jumpers has reached whole new levels.
Way back in September (September!) I bought a “classy” Christmas jumper (is there even such a thing?). Then just after Halloween I spotted a truly hideous one in Primark and knew I had to make it mine. It’s got sequins and patches and actual jingle-bells on it and is truly the ugliest Christmas sweater you’ve ever seen. I LOVE it.
I told myself that was it. I WAS DONE BUYING CHRISTMAS JUMPERS…
But then Debenhams invited me to their Christmas Jumper party, and offered to let me pick myself out one of their festive jumpers.
And, well… you can guess what happened next.
Jasmin and I met up outside the Debenhams store on Oxford St and headed inside to be greeted by this cheery chap!
The lovely Alina handed us our goodie bags and we got stuck in straight away. Mine was filled with my chosen jumper, a Christmas tree star topper, a beanie bobble hat with integrated speakers, a cute little rubber purse, a bracelet, a mini Yankee candle and a whole bunch of Lindt chocolate bonbons (yep, the ones I had for breakfast on Saturday!)
I also took home a chocolate Lindt Santa and won myself a Magic 8 Ball in the raffle!
For my jumper, I picked this grey striped sweater with bands of different Christmassy patterns running across the chest. It’s lovely and soft, and not too thick. I figured it was a nice little bridge between über-novelty and super-classic. What do you think?
Jasmin went for this adorable polar bear jumper, which has little paws on the sides so it’s like you’re BEING HUGGED BY AN ACTUAL POLAR BEAR.
Honourable mentions must also go to the fabulous food. Because food matters too.
Smoked salmon and soured cream piled on blinis, crostinis topped with cranberry sauce and brie; and ham, cheese and caramelised onion chutney. And, of course, plenty of mince pies and hot mulled wine too!
I had a brilliant night and it was so lovely to catch up with Jas and Jesse and Hollie, and meet some more lovely bloggers. Making new friends through Little Miss Katy is officially my favourite thing about blogging :)
Thank you to Alina and the lovely PR team at Debenhams for providing such a fun-filled night and a lovely bundle of goodies. I can’t wait to whack out the Christmas jumper again over the holidays!
