So you may or may not have heard that I moved house recently… (LOLZ)

In that process, I got rid of a LOT of clothes.

Seriously. Like, a lot a lot.

So now I’m in the frame of mind that I need to replace some of it. Because obviously.

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks trying to pull together my Style Concept for Autumn, only to realise that, actually, it’s pretty much exactly the same as my Spring one.

Which is great cos it means my style “uniform” is an actual thing that’s finally starting to happen!

What the heck is a Style Concept?

To recap: a Style Concept is basically a set of guidelines to your own personal style. And by guidelines I mean: a collection of shapes, textures and colours that you love and wear often.

This then helps to streamline your wardrobe, so you don’t end up with a million items that don’t actually work together. It’s helped me create a bit of a day-to-day uniform, which I can easily pull out and throw on and know I’ll look good in.

OK, so what’s in my Autumn 2015 Style Concept?

Way back in February, I narrowed down my basic everyday shapes to skater dresses, swing dresses, skinny jeans, loose shirts, crew neck sweaters, ballet flats and trainers.

My only real update for this season is bringing my skirts down to midi length.

Short hemlines tend to make me feel uncomfortable these days and ever since I tried my first midi on a few months back, I’ve been hooked and now I want so. many. more.

Other than that it’s all pretty much the same, really: dresses or waist-high skirts + shirts with trainers; and jeans with oversized knits + ballet flats.

Add in some good coats and massive blanket scarves, and I’m pretty much set!

My day-to-day colour choices are still neutrals: black, white, grey and nude, with touches of pale blue, navy and berry mixed in. (Though I do obviously still wear other colours (and shapes) as well!)

So with all that in mind, here’s what my Autumn Wishlist looks like:

One of the things I’ve learnt from this Style Concept process is to go sloooow.

I’m not planning on throwing away perfectly good clothes already in my wardrobe just cos they don’t exactly match my guidelines.

But the “rules” do help me narrow down choices when I’m shopping for new items, and stop me from impulse-buying things I’ll only ever wear once.

And it honestly really HAS helped.

I already feel like my wardrobe is starting to come together, and I’m much less likely to throw a tantrum because OMG I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR.

THOSE SILVER MARY JANES. Sigh. So good.

Then there’s the printed Vans. Aren’t they just FAB?! I love the colours.

I’m also a bit obsessed with the dungarees. They’re top of my payday shopping list at the moment and I can’t wait to have a play around with how to wear them!
